A brain injury can happen to anyone at any time. The results can be devastating leaving survivors with physical and cognitive challenges that affect every aspect of their lives. Survivors often cannot live safely alone. They find limited community resources to help them adjust to their new lives, recuperate and rehabilitate. While there is much research into the acute care needs of individuals with brain injury, there is limited research into their long-term care needs.
