“As a Neuro-Fit intern I was able to learn a variety of lessons through my experiences working with participants. Going into the program, I had no prior hands-on experience in working with people. An obstacle I was able to overcome was not being too much. By this I mean assisting and or guiding a participant in ways that they do not need, and in this taking away from what they are able to do. It is important to find the line of doing your job while still giving the people you are working with a sense of independence. Through this internship I was able to learn that valuable skill, and it was the perfect experience I needed to introduce me to working with people.

Throughout the course of the internship program, I was able to build strong relationships with those I worked with. Seeing them every week we were able to all find common interests and form bonds past the program we were working in. This made it all the more special each time a participant progressed in their program. It was a rewarding feeling to meet someone and become a part in helping them accomplish a goal they have set for themselves. Every day at Neuro-Fit, we were able to complete our workouts and make progress towards each individual goal. After getting through a tough workout or finishing that last set of an exercise, seeing the smile on a participant’s face is a prize for an intern in itself.”
