KJ’s Story: Still Moving Forward - Thanks to You
At just 17 years old, KJ’s life changed in an instant after a devastating car accident left him with a traumatic brain injury and in a coma for six months. What followed was a long and determined journey through rehabilitation, resilience, and redefining independence.
Nearly four decades later, KJ continues to live life with humor, determination, and a deep sense of community at Warren House. From learning to communicate again to building lifelong friendships and staying active in the programs he loves, his story is a powerful reminder that recovery and growth never truly stop.

After her stroke, Ellen made a powerful choice: keep moving forward. From relearning how to walk to dancing at a friend’s wedding, her journey through Neuro-Fit is a testament to determination, independence, and community. Her story is one of perseverance, progress, and the power of believing in what’s possible.
Running Toward Recovery: Howard’s Story of Resilience and Hope
Howard’s story is one of resilience and renewal. After surviving a childhood kidney transplant and a severe brain injury in college, he spent years in recovery before finding stability at Supportive Living’s Douglas House.
Today, Howard proudly completes the 5K Battlegreen Run each year and advocates for the Neuro-Fit Program that transformed his life—encouraging others to give so more individuals can achieve their own recovery goals.
